Franklin Schoodic Hall
About Us
The Friends of Franklin Schoodic Hall in Franklin, Maine is on a mission to save the former Maine State Grange building #420 located on Rt 182 in the heart of Franklin. The building (over 100-years-old) holds many memories for town folk and beyond. In its prime it was the hub for Grange member meetings, school plays and graduations, bean suppers, Scout gatherings, family reunions and so much more. Sadly, Grange membership dwindled and the building has set vacant for 8 years. Situated between the Franklin Community Center and the Franklin Fire Department, Franklin Schoodic Hall is, indeed, looking worn and tired.
FFSH has begun work, in earnest, to bring the building back to life. The most urgent objective is to purchase the building from the Maine State Grange. Once this is accomplished FFSH will solicit funds by way of grants, fundraisers and private donors, functioning as a 501c3. Our goal is to restore the building, returning it to, again, a vital part of the community.
Ideas for future use include an indoor farmers' market, private functions, town suppers, plays, chess and cribbage tournaments, the use of a commercial kitchen, club gatherings and much more.
Please consider donating to our cause. Every dollar donated will go towards the purchase and restoration of the building. Help make the old gal shine once more.
